Owner & Founder, Ruby!
Tidy Up Cares
Hey folks! I’m Ruby, the founder of Tidy Up Portland. I started out as a house cleaner, learned the ropes hands-on, and eventually studied the best cleaning companies from around the world. I’ve been mentored by some of the industry’s top minds and I’m currently taking business courses to keep leveling up what we do here.
From the start, I wanted to build a world-class cleaning company—one that takes care of both families and the people who clean for them. This industry is known for high turnover and low pay. We’re changing that. Our cleaners are paid fairly, treated with respect, and supported with systems that help them succeed.
We’re also committed to eco-friendly products that are safer for our team, your home, and our planet.
Over time, I realized something wild: a lot of people don’t actually love their cleaning service. That’s a huge opportunity. We’ve learned that the key is clear communication, setting expectations, and doing what we say we’ll do. Your home has over 10,000 surfaces—you notice everything. That’s why we use checklists, customize your service, and make sure it’s done your way.
Right now, we’re rebuilding. We call it Tidy Up 2.0. This next version of our company is designed to work better—for our clients and our cleaners alike. We’re building something special. Here’s what we believe:
Happy cleaners make happy customers.
Investing in local service brings good karma.
Green cleaning should be the norm.
You don’t need chemicals to keep a home clean.
House cleaners deserve real pay and real respect.
Cleaning is about more than tidying—it’s about care.
Your time is worth it. Investing a few hundred a month to get it back? 100% worth it.
We really care. And frankly? Not everybody does.
So if you're considering a bargain service, ask yourself: who are you letting into your home, and what kind of support do they get?
We’ve cleaned over 10,000 homes. We’re not guessing—we’ve seen what works. Tidy Up is a pandemic-born business. We’re still here because we’ve stayed focused on our mission: people first. Even through inflation, instability, and all the unknowns—we’ve stayed true.
When you book with Tidy Up, you're supporting a local, woman-owned business that’s doing it differently. And we appreciate you more than you know.
